60 YEARS OF HISTORY AND TRADITIONAhead of its time, our company was the first dairy cooperative to produce drinking milk sourced in Valtellina. It was founded in 1957, in response to the need to find an entrepreneurial dimension to the work of many small farmers. Today we are a consortium with more than 20 members active breeders in the area between Sondrio and Tirano.

Animal wellfare is for us much more than a commercial practice: it is an ethical and moral imperative. We rely on solid values and principles and work closely with our farms to ensure the safety and humane treatment of the cows that provide us with fresh milk.

Latteria di Chiuro is in the heart of Valtellina, a few minutes from Sondrio and Tirano. In this area are located the farms of our members, the manufacturing site and the company store. This proximity allows us to process fresh raw materials immediately after milking. Farmers contribute to the protection of this land, its corn fields and permanent meadows, source of the necessary nourishment for cattle in order to produce high quality milk.

You will find the flavours of Valtellina, home of gastronomic delights known throughout the world, in our Bitto and Valtellina Casera cheeses, both awarded with the Protected Designation of Origin. They are the end result of a production process based on respect and care for our territory.
