The quality of Latteria di Chiuro’s products is also guaranteed by the health of the ecosystem in which they are produced. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we focus on adopting innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact and to make the production cycle more efficient.
In 2021, we commissioned an energy audit covering the production facility, offices and retail store. The audit highlighted the efficiency of our production machinery, which showed no particular critical issues related to energy consumption. This represents further confirmation of the attention that Latteria has always paid to innovation in support of production processes and sustainability. All the electricity we consume comes exclusively from renewable sources with a certificate of origin. In 2023, we installed photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our main buildings.
Reducing water waste and enhancing its value are essential even in areas that do not face specific issues related to water stress, such as Valtellina. For this reason, we are committed to reducing water use in our production processes to the minimum necessary.
Latteria di Chiuro’s attention to the environment is also reflected in the careful selection of the materials used in its activities, with a preference for products and processes that promote the circular economy. In addition to our main raw material, milk, we pay particular attention to packaging, mainly adopting easily recyclable materials such as paper, PET and Tetra Pak®. Our yogurt cups are made of 100% recyclable PET, with the option to integrate 30% RPET (recycled PET).
