On the occasion of Earth Day, Latteria di Chiuro reaffirms its focus on environmental issues, which are an integral part of a structured and shared sustainability journey.
This commitment took on a more formal and transparent dimension in 2023 with the publication of the company’s first Sustainability Report: a tool through which Latteria di Chiuro presents its actions, goals and results across environmental, social and economic areas.
Within this framework, environmental protection translates into concrete actions that involve different aspects of the company’s operations.
Energy and efficiency
Latteria di Chiuro continuously invests in optimizing energy consumption and increasing the use of renewable sources:
- 25% of total energy demand is met through self-produced energy generated by the photovoltaic system
- 100% of the energy used comes from renewable sources with certified origin
- the use of green energy has resulted in 769 tonnes of CO₂ emissions saved
Circular economy
Waste management is focused on the recovery and reuse of resources. In this context, the recovery of whey from production is a concrete example of how waste can be reduced while giving new value to by-products generated during the production process.
Packaging and materials
This approach also extends to the selection of materials and packaging design, with solutions such as 100% recyclable PET used for yogurt containers, in line with an increasingly circular approach.
Alongside these results, Latteria di Chiuro continues to work on the responsible management of resources, with particular attention to reducing water consumption and continuously improving production processes.
A journey that involves the entire supply chain and translates into everyday actions aimed at reducing environmental impact, while maintaining quality, safety and respect for the local area at its core.
Earth Day thus becomes an opportunity to reaffirm a clear direction: to continue investing in sustainable practices, with a concrete and measurable approach.
