Furmagin Cheese

Small, genuine and delicious with its fresh milk aroma, this is a unique speciality of Latteria di Chiuro. “Furmagin” means “little cheese” in the Valtellina dialect. Produced exclusively with cow’s milk from our farms, it reaches the table after a short ageing period, just enough time to develop its characteristic white bloomy rind. It has a compact paste with a soft and elastic texture. The flavour is light, delicate and sweet, characterised by fresh milk notes: a true delicacy to discover at the table and in the kitchen. Perfect for making risottos creamier or finishing pasta dishes, it is also excellent in summer salads or enjoyed with a slice of rye bread, in true Valtellina style.
